"Official" is a status for administrative and technical employees of diplomatic missions and members of the service staff, etc.

本邦において行うことができる活動（出入国管理及び難民認定法　別表第一　一）

Activities on the part of those who engage in the official business of foreign governments or international organizations recognized by the Japanese Government; and activities on the part of their family members belonging to the same household (except for the activities listed in the right-hand column under this table's "Diplomat" column).

日本国政府の承認した外国政府若しくは国際機関の公務に従事する者又はその者と同一の世帯に属する家族の構成員としての活動（この表の外交の項の下欄に掲げる活動を除く。）

Period during which the alien engages in the activities listed in the right-hand column corresponding to "Official" specified in Appended Table I (1) of the Immigration Control Act ("Official Activities").

法別表第一の一の表の公用の項の下欄に掲げる活動（「公用活動」と称する。）を行う期間
